Dear ones in the family of God, each person has a particular season they are going through and when you seek God to know what season it is you are going through now, you can be equipped and fortified with His strength with a better plan and insight for your life and those around you for that time.
Let us be courageous in sharing that this is a season of discouragement for many in the body. Thankfully we are not always going through the same season as someone else, but on the other hand, there are enough of us going through the same season that we can encourage each other in that season.
“Then they that feared the Lord spoke often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon His name.” Malachi 3:16 (17 is good with that). So, we shall encourage one another and share our testimonies with one another, and in doing so we shall overcome the enemy! Revelation 12:11
Remember, seasons are just a period of time. They can vary in length, and we hope this is a short one! Discouragement doesn’t sound like much fun. But let us show you how you can prosper in any season, especially this type!
It is in the season of discouragement that God watches so closely in His tender love and the cloud of witnesses cheer on fervently! It is good and we are confident in sharing this. Is the Lord Jesus Christ the Lord of your life? Remember, God’s plans for you are to prosper you and is not planning evil for you. Jer. 29:11 He will give you an expected end, and a future and a hope.
God is no respecter of persons. He changes not.
The season of discouragement is the fertile ground from where growth and promotion from the Lord comes. If you want to describe prosperity, it is in that sentence.
What have we if we have no growth or promotion from the Lord? Promotion comes from steady hearts pressing into God when all else seems fruitless. Promotion comes from ground that has been well tilled and our praises to God release His rains of refreshment that maturity may spring forth so that harvest (promotion) is available.
“Lord I beseech You, send now prosperity.” Ps. 118:25. Of all things, the word prosperity means in this passage, “to push forward, breakout, come (mightily), go over – be profitable”. (New Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance). (Verse 24 is the famous, “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.”!!!!)
Yes! Let’s go over! Let’s push forward in faith and be promoted! Let us believe God right this very minute and throughout every hour through this precious time of trial and tribulation and turn our discouragements into victory and determination to go to the other side. We will not give up! We will not be robbed of our peace, our joy, nor of our destiny to glorify God in every bit of our calling, remembering that “faithful is He Who has called us, Who will also do it”! I Thess. 5:24
It is imperative during this time that we offer up the sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving (many scriptures saying this). When we do this and actually do it until it becomes natural and easy (may take anywhere from one minute to ten minutes e.g.) we will be given insight and understanding.
In other words, God gives us His eyes of understanding in this, and voilà, our perspective changes and we see everything differently. Peace always ~ always ~ always ~ always follows. When you have His peace, you can receive joy. When you receive joy, you receive strength. When you receive His peace (that the world cannot give) you can now HEAR for the next step.
Allow God to have His way during this time. Do not compromise for any reason. Be like Jesus. Stay true to what He has given to you to believe for and be like.
Read His Word diligently. Find someone to pray with you (who won’t share your trials with other people) and make sure they have faith! Don’t pray with someone who doesn’t encourage you or believe what God has to say for you. Agree with Jesus with what His Word says you have and are in Him. He is your brother!
In the meantime? We will stand together with you and hold you close to the Throne. Someone is reading this! Whoever that is, we are praying for you. Fervently.
Let us pray.
“Father, thank You that I can believe in You just because I love You. Because I love You, I can believe what Your Word says to me. I will continue to trust You always. I need You desperately. I will choose to believe that You are Who You say You are. I will stay upon You. Pour Your strength out on me dear God, and I thank You for planning good “for me” always. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Isaiah 50:10, “Who is he who fears the Lord and obeys the voice of His servant, that has no light and sits in darkness? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and STAY UPON HIS GOD.”
Micah 7:8, “Oh rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”
