Are Your Prayers Being Heard?

Have you ever wondered if you were really pleasing God and asked yourself why your prayers seem to hit the ceiling?

We know from the scriptures that to trust and obey God is our reasonable service.

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1&2

We know also from the scriptures that to not do the will of God, that is: not to trust and obey Him, is not pleasing to Him.

“Now we know that God hears not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does His will, him He hears.” John 9:31 Are we worshipping God? Are we doing His will? We know then that our prayers are being heard.

What is fun is, that when we travel, we ask God for a good parking spot (usually when we are in a hurry) and God gives us great parking spots, one after another. We ask God, please let it snow when we open up Christmas presents, and it starts to snow right before we sit to start our Christmas celebrating and opening of presents.

This tells me, that God is pleased with me/us. God doesn’t favor you if He is displeased with you. But He will lavish you with mercies and lovingkindness to bring you to repentance. And that is another subject!!

But there are other important things we have to know about being in the will of God and for Him to hear us. God’s Word also says in the Gospels, namely Matthew 6 that if we don’t forgive someone their sin, God will not forgive us ours.

Luke 6:46 says, “And why call me Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”

Sin and unforgiveness puts a wall between God and us.

Proverbs 15:8&29 “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is His delight.” “The LORD is far from the wicked: but He hears the prayers of the righteous.”

James 5:16, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

And there is the place in the Bible God speaks specifically to husbands, “Likewise husbands, dwell with them (your wife) according to knowledge, giving honour to the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.” I Peter 3:7

Mark 11:22-24 says, we are to pray believing….. then we shall have it. Okay, then Hebrews 11:6 says, when we come to God, we are to believe that HE IS… and that He is a rewarder of those who consistently, diligently, & persistently seek Him.

Holding onto what God is, is the frosting on the cake for being changed from Glory to Glory.

So, let’s pray.

Father, I want my prayers to be heard, so most of all, I want to be pleasing to You and honor You in everything I do. Please forgive me of my sins” (it’s good to name them specifically) “and I forgive each person” (also name it specifically is best) “of their sins.

My utmost desire is to bless You through my actions of trust and obedience. I seek to worship You. I seek to trust You in every situation. I give You all of me, but I also need all of You. Thank You for hearing me Father.

I pray this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ the Lord.
